Have you had a negative experience with a real estate agent, brokerage, landlord, or property manager in Ontario?

Whether you’re a buyer, renter, landlord, or seller, your story matters. We are collecting real-life cases that expose misuse of real estate forms, unethical behavior, and regulatory failure.

What You Can Report:

  • Denial of access to showings or listings without a signed contract

  • Being pressured to sign a Buyer Representation Agreement (BRA)

  • Use of the wrong lease (e.g., OREA lease instead of Ontario Standard Lease)

  • Being misinformed about your rights under TRESA or RTA

  • Hidden fees, dual agency abuse, or deceptive tactics

  • Any experience where you felt your rights were ignored or abused

Buyer Issues

  • Denied showing as a self-represented buyer

  • Pressured to sign a Buyer Representation Agreement (BRA)

  • Misuse of Form 244 (Seller Direction Regarding Showings or Offers)

  • Misleading or incomplete property disclosures

  • Dual agency concerns or conflicts of interest

  • Bait-and-switch listings (fake or unavailable homes)

Renter Issues

  • Given non-standard or illegal lease (OREA lease instead of government standard)

  • Misleading or incomplete rental agreements

  • Discrimination in tenant selection (income, race, family status, etc.)

  • Improper notice of rent increase or eviction

  • Pressure to waive legal rights (e.g., key deposits, inspections)

Landlord Issues

  • Misled by agent about legal lease forms or tenant rights

  • Improper lease documents used by property managers

  • Disputes over commissions or property access

  • Failure to disclose important info about tenants or unit history

  • Breach of fiduciary duty by listing agent

General Agent Misconduct

  • Misrepresentation or false advertising

  • Undisclosed financial interest in a property

  • Pressuring clients into decisions or signatures

  • Failure to provide required documents (RECO guide, Form 810, etc.)

  • Using fear, urgency, or manipulation as a tactic

Form Misuse or Document Concerns

  • Use of outdated or non-compliant forms

  • Refusal to share executed forms or property history

  • Forcing exclusivity through misleading paperwork
