RealEstateWatchCanada.ca is an independent, citizen-led watchdog organization exposing unethical real estate practices in Ontario. We provide a platform for consumers to share their experiences, report misconduct, and learn their rights. We aim to hold real estate professionals and regulators accountable by publishing public case files and driving systemic reform.

No. We are completely independent. RECO (Real Estate Council of Ontario) is the government-authorized regulator for real estate professionals, and OREA (Ontario Real Estate Association) is an industry lobbying group. We answer only to the public, not to industry insiders.

While regulators like RECO handle complaints privately and rarely publish outcomes, we document misconduct publicly when it serves the greater good. Our focus is on transparency, public education, and collective accountability—not protecting industry reputation.

We operate as a public interest initiative. While we are not currently a registered charity or non-profit corporation, all funding goes toward investigative work, platform upkeep, and outreach. We accept donations and may pursue formal nonprofit status in the future.
