Real Estate Watch Canada ("REWC", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are actively working to make our website, services, and digital resources accessible, inclusive, and usable by everyone, regardless of physical or cognitive ability, language, or device.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

 

1. Our Commitment

  • We strive to ensure our platform complies with:

  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA);

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA;

  • Other provincial and federal accessibility requirements, where applicable.

  • We aim to provide a digital experience that supports diverse needs including screen readers, keyboard navigation, and color contrast adjustments.​

  • Alternative text for images and graphics

  • Clear heading structures and descriptive links

  • High contrast visual design and resizable text

  • Logical tab orders and keyboard navigability

  • Mobile responsiveness across devices

  • Transcripts or captions for video/audio content

  • Language accessibility in English and select other languages commonly spoken in Canada

3. Ongoing Improvements

  • Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We conduct periodic audits, incorporate user feedback, and work with accessibility experts and developers to identify and address barriers.

  • Future enhancements include:

  • Interactive accessibility toolbar (e.g., text resize, contrast toggle, dyslexia-friendly font)

  • Additional language translations for key pages

  • Continuous compatibility testing with assistive technologies
